No words can describe what your music means to me. Each time I visit Hawai'i from my home in California I sadly a leave part of me behind when I must come home that longs to return and confuses me as to where home actually is... but since I found your music I can now meet up with that spirit when I'm at my California home and it tides me over until I can visit once again.

Howzit guys! Just wondering if anyone knew how to get in touch with Kala'i Stern. I used to work with him at Blockbuster Kaneohe store back in the early/mid 90s. He'll remember me (Tom Swingle) as the Haole boy who used to try and keep up with him at the Karaoke bar and singing the songs from Disney's Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast on the overhead TV's in the Blockbuster store! My email address is tomswing@yahoo.com, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh man...the break sucks...but at least we've still got the music. That's what matters most. We missed your last performances by about a week on one of our vacations and have been back since. I guess we'll just synch up some time in the future and we'll see a whole new `Ale`a when we get back to your beautiful Hawaii. By the way...saw Na Leo at the Cerritos center for the performing arts recently here in CA - a whole lotta Hawaiians sourrounded this haole and his wife. Great show-great venue. You must come and play here (near Huntington Beach) sometime for all us "wannabe" Hawaiians here in CA. As always--best of luck to you all, no matter where life takes you. Thanks for the music!
ALOHA!

I served a two year mission for the Mormon church to Hawaii from 2000 to 2002. For a time we were allowed to listen to the local music...if it wasn't for Alea I would have been totally lost. This was the group that inspired me to invest in a ukulele and I haven't regretted it since. Thank you for the memories
Much A.L.O.HA.

Loved seeing "`Ale`anape" at Snowbird's fundraiser Sunday night. Gonzo, you were definitely "the house band", weren't you??

Dear 'Ale'a Members,
I just wanted to compliment you young men on your latest CD, "Kaulupono". I first heard it in Neil Hannah's office. I think it is terrific, and you are to be complimented for your rich talent and outstanding artistry. It is wonderful that you are carring on the Hawaiian music traditions, while featuring new Hawaiian songs from new Hawaiian composers. Good luck in all your endeavors. I'm sure you have many more CDs and much more success ahead of you in your careers.
Please share this with all the group members... Special aloha to Kale and his mom and dad.
Aloha,
Kapono Beamer

Aloha mai e Chad,
My halau will be visiting Oahu in June 2006. One of the things I would like me haumana to experience is the mana that comes from seeing the place in which they dance about. One of our Hula Auana is Ka Manu Kikaha 'Olu. Your mele, has touched the hearts of our halau deeply. Saichi, with Kapalakiko, had mentioned he knew you well and shared his mana'o on the kaona behind your beautiful mele. We say mahalo for writing this moving tribute. We used your mele to honor one of our loved ones who passed this year of cancer.
Our Halau will be there, June 13-20th, 2006. We are meeting with Kumu Hula Rich Pedrina, who will take us through our huaka'i. It is a dream come true for me, personally, and I am sure it will be unforgetable to all 25 of my haumana participating. Is there any performing dates you will be around for during our stay? We would love to attend a concert or possibly have a moment to meet you and share our aloha with you.
Aloha Pumehana,
Dori Neumeier

CRY! not. i'll just be sitting here in front of the 'puter, waiting, waiting, 'til the end of time (oh wait, wrong group -- lol). but i will be looking for your new CD next year.
